HANCOCK -- PHANTASMAGORIA is the new exhibition at the Copper Country Community Arts Center's Kerredge Gallery featuring photographs by Calumet artist Eric Munch. The exhibit will be on display from August 7 through August 30, 2025.

When Eric Munch is going out to shoot photographs, he looks for the unusual, the subtle or the odd in the landscape. Over the years he has spent a lot of time photographing the rugged shoreline of Lake Superior, the quiet places on the mainland, the wilds of Isle Royale and the night sky. He approaches photographing natural subjects such as trees, waves, and ice formations in a sculptural sense, adding a bit of surrealism to the familiar landscape. In addition to fine art photography, Eric's professional career also includes commercial work as a wedding photographer and photojournalist.

Everyone is welcome to the opening reception for this exhibition from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. Eric will give a brief talk about his work and inspiration, and refreshments will be served. This exhibition is supported in part by a grant from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Copper Country Community Arts Center is located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information call (906) 482-2333 or visit the website www.coppercountryarts.com
