Love Canal activist Lois Gibbs to speak Oct. 15 in Marquette

From Save the Wild UP:

MARQUETTE -- Breakfast and Conversation, with environmental activist and advocate for children’s health, Lois Gibbs, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15th, at The Waterfront (above L'Attitude restaurant) in Marquette. Tickets are $20. For information email mbparky2@gmail.com.

Also on Oct. 15, Gibbs will present, "From Love Canal to Michigan" at 7 p.m. in Jamrich Hall Room 102 on the campus of Northern Michigan University (NMU). This is free to NMU students and $3 for the general public. Both events are sponsored by Baby Cakes Muffin Company, Cedar Tree Institute, Mary’s Closet, Snowbound Books, Students For Sustainable Living, Superior Watershed Partnership and Why Not Marketing. Claudia Schmidt to perform at Oct. 22 fundraiser concert in Big Bay

Claudia Schmidt will perform a concert in Big Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22. The Thunder Bay Inn will host this Save the Wild UP fundraiser featuring a silent auction, wine and cheese appetizers and local musicians from 5:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., preceding the concert.
