Updated: Public Notice: City of Hancock to hold public hearing on recreation plan Oct. 20

HANCOCK -- The City of Hancock will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at City Hall located at 399 Quincy Street, Hancock, MI 49930 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The purpose of the hearing is to receive any comment from the public regarding the City of Hancock Five-Year Recreation Plan. The draft plan is available for review on the City’s website at www.cityofhancock.com, on the WUPPDR website at www.wuppdr.org or at the City of Hancock.* Written comments may be submitted to WUPPDR, P.O. Box 365, Houghton, MI 49931, through October 22, 2010.

Editor's Note: Hancock City Manager Glenn Anderson told Keweenaw Now today that comments received by Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, will be given to City Council members for the hearing. The regular monthly meeting of the Hancock City Council will follow the hearing on Oct. 20. Meg Pachmayer, planner for WUPPDR (Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region), said, "Comments will be accepted right up through the Public Hearing on October 20, 2010."
