HANCOCK -- Back by popular demand, Jim Lohmann will be offering another opportunity for people to make their own quality five-string kantele, an iconic musical instrument of Finland. The class will be offered from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 12, at the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock. Those interested must attend both sessions.The fee is $125, which includes all materials. No specific skills are needed; even those with no carpentry experience can attend and enjoy. At the end of the two-day class, you can take home your own five-string kantele like the one in the above photo.
