Hancock Tori to hold Flea Market Friday, July 18

HANCOCK -- Hancock Tori will be having a Flea Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. TOMORROW, Friday, July 18. Spots for vendors cost $5. A wide variety of items will be offered for sale.

Anyone interested in a spot can get in touch with Sandy Soring at 337-1391 or sandysoring@charter.net.

The Hancock Tori is open for the season. Market hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday rain or shine. The Tori is located next to the Finnish American Heritage Center on Quincy street downtown Hancock.

Hancock Tori to open June 4

HANCOCK -- The Hancock Tori open air market will open Wednesday, June 4, 2014, on the Quincy Green next to the Finnish American Heritage Center in downtown Hancock.

John Lennington sells plants and fresh vegetables in the Tori.

The Tori will be open every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from June through September, rain or shine.

The City of Hancock provides awnings and garbage collection for the Tori, while Finlandia University provides space and restroom facilities. Anderson announced at the May 21 City Council meeting that he was glad to see 19 vendors at the meeting.

Tori vendors offer locally grown vegetables, berries, plants and flowers for sale. Some vendors sell locally made jams, jellies, honey and baked goods. In addition, artisan vendors offer locally crafted baskets, wool yarn, towels, jewelry, and more. Some also demonstrate their craft skills during market hours.

HANCOCK -- The Hancock Tori (Market) will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, at the First United Methodist Church next to the Quincy Green, downtown Hancock.

Check out some hand-crafted items by local artisans -- and more. All are welcome.

Hancock Tori to hold meeting Apr. 24

HANCOCK -- A meeting for all those interested in Hancock's Tori market -- sellers, customers and friends -- will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 24, at Studio Pizza in Hancock, across from the Tori location on Quincy Street.

The Tori will open on Saturday, June 2, this year. Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Hancock Tori (market) to open June 1

HANCOCK -- The Hancock "Tori" (Finnish for "market") will open its 2011 season at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, on the front lawn of the former Middle School on Quincy Street, next to the Finnish American Heritage Center. The Tori hosts vendors of fresh local produce, baked goods, preserves, handcrafts, and more.
